Melissa Tea

The leaves are used as a spice, in teas, and also as a flavoring. The plant is used to attract bees for honey production. It is cultivated as an ornamental plant and for its oil (used in perfumery). Lemon balm tea, essential oil, and extract are used in traditional and alternative medicine, including aromatherapy. Lemon balm has been cultivated since at least the 16th century. Modern research is being conducted to determine the safety and effects of the plant on humans.
